Avoid fasted workouts for women

Women should not train in a fasted state because it increases cortisol and sympathetic drive and reduces ability to hit needed intensities; especially avoid fasted high-intensity or resistance training in perimenopause and beyond.

So when we're talking about fasting or fasted workouts, trying to improve that metabolic flexibility, it increases stress on the woman... So from an overall stress perspective, that fasted workout and holding that fast for a long period of time increases cortisol.
