Artificial Tears

Use artificial tears to rinse the eye or relieve dry eye. Preserved and non-preserved versions are safe for eye use; for most dry eye, regular over-the-counter drops are sufficient, but if using more than a couple drops regularly, switch to preservative-free single-use vials because preservatives can irritate and inflame the ocular surface.
